Novotel Bangkok IMPACT - Family & Business trip hotel - Terminal 2 At Don Muang Airport

Terminal 2 At Don Muang Airport

Many travelers know Don Muang Airport, but not many are aware that Terminal 2 at Don Muang Airport reopened on Christmas Eve 2015 after nearly 10 years. Terminal 2 at Don Muang Airport is now equipped with 42 check-in counters, divided into 6 lanes with 7 counters each. The Check in system is state of the art with surveillance cameras and bomb detection systems.

Terminal 2 at Don Muang Airport was renovated and reopened to relieve pressure on the airport’s Terminal 1. This was due to the projected surge in passenger numbers, which are expected to increase from 28 million this year to more than 30 million a year in the next 12 months.

Not only is the new terminal brand new, it is also has 267 commercial zones. Due to the popularity of the budget airline service, Terminal 2 was put into renovation to improve the situation. Terminal 1 will continue to serve international flights but will soon undergo renovation as well. Don Mueang now accommodates between 80,000 and 110,000 passengers daily, and the newly added terminal will enlarge capacity from 18.5 million to 30 million passengers annually.
