Did you know that multi-tasking also applies to having fun? The best example of it is undoubtedly an evening at Asiatique, The Riverfront Bangkok. There are so many exciting things to do in just one setting: you can shop, have a delicious meal, knock beer mugs together at the bars, go for a ride on the Ferris wheel or simply enjoy the scenery at the riverfront. And if you’re still unsatisfied, there are live Muay Thai fights, the legendary Calypso cabaret show and Thai puppets by Joe Louis Theatre.
Asiatique was once a bustling international trade port before being transformed into over 1,500 boutiques and 40 restaurants housed under a huge replica warehouse complex. The easiest and fastest way to get there is by boat. You can take the BTS to Saphan Taksin or choose to make an adventure of it and take the boat taxis on the Chaophraya river with your final stop at the BTS station. Then it’s just a quick jump on the free shuttle at the end of the pier. It only takes ten minutes, and the boat runs until 11 pm. Taxis are not recommended as the traffic can be terrible in this area.
