Get your science on at Rangsit Science Centre for Education. The three level building is the perfect place to learn, but also have fun. With 15 interactive galleries related to science and technology this centre is also dedicated to the prehistoric world. Annexed to Rajamangala University of Technology, the building, however, is located on the other end of the campus on Rangsit-Nakorn Nayok Road.
Established in 1994 to support the scientific learning of university students, the building occupies 35, 000 square meters of usable areas. The centre was established by the Office of the Non-Formal and Informal Education, Ministry of Education. Fans of astronomy can find a rare jewel atRangsit Science Centre: a fully operational modern planetarium and IMAX. The space can accommodate 160 people per show for a choice of star show or full dome movie show. You don’t need a passion for star gazing to enjoy the amazing shows.
State of the art telescopes can also be installed at Rangsit Science Centre dome observatory. For experts, the capacity of the available telescopes is simply astronomical. The centre also offers lots of activities for amateurs, ranging from one day to a whole week depending on the course. Scientific camps, classrooms, seminars and meetings can be easily audited. There are also outdoor exhibitions with a science garden, herb garden, sundials and a geography garden. All well worth a visit for an educational day trip. The centre is closed on Monday and public holidays.
