Bang Sai Arts and Crafts Centre is only 30 minutes away from Novotel Bangkok IMPACT by taxi and a great place for a day trip. The Centre offers unique handmade locals products by farmers from everywhere in Thailand. It gives visitors a glimpse of how people in all regions of Thailand work on local crafts and products. There is also a bird park, Suan Nok which has two large aviaries housing dozens of birds.
Bangsai Arts and Crafts Centre spans on a large property of 14 acres. The best part is the village with traditional Thai wooden houses where you can watch how handicrafts are being made. There is large teak complex in the village where all the farmers from different regions gather to make handicrafts. The products include basketry, silk products, traditional weaving silk, and even hand carved furniture. All of the items are for sale, so the centre is a great place to shops for gifts and souvenirs, especially as it also contributes to the livelihood of local artisans.
Bangsai Arts and Crafts Centre is also a popular venue for wedding couples and the centre even offers catering service and a ceremony hall. This is because of the Phra Tamnak houses which are stunning royal residences. The residences are traditional houses from Central Thailand with an open basement. The building only uses construction materials available locally and has a beautiful garden with a miniature waterfall. The area is simply stunning.
